Where to park in Parramatta

Parramatta is Sydney’s second CBD. As there’s been a lot of change and development in the area. This is great news for visitors and locals alike, but it means parking in Parramatta has become more difficult. Here are a few tips on where to park in Parramatta on your next visit.


On-street parking

Street parking in the Parramatta CBD area is $4.00 per hour from Sunday to Friday, and $2.00 per hour after 6pm (Monday to Friday) and all day on Saturday. Most street parking in North Parramatta is $3.00 per hour on weekdays. There are some streets with ‘all-day’ or ‘10-hour’ time limits, and they top out at either $9.50 or $8.00 a day. They can be found on:

  • George Street
  • Stewart Street; and
  • Early Street.
  • However, don’t rely on finding one of these spots! They’re in short supply and very popular.


    Off-street parking

    If you need to park for more than 3 hours, off-street parking is the way to go. Secure Parking and Wilson operate commercial parking lots in Parramatta, some of which offer all-day parking. You’ll typically be paying around $25-$30 for a full day’s parking.

    Meriton Suites provides affordable parking on George St from just $30 per day via Share with Oscar (book here).

    Parramatta Westfield parking offers 3 hours free parking with one entry per day. You will be charged $7 for exceeding this up to 30min, and $10 for the next 30 minutes. The daily charge can be up to $50.

    There are also several car parks in Parramatta, perfect if you want to avoid searching for on-street parking. The prices range from $3 (for up to one hour) to $26 (for the day).

    Monthly parking in Parramatta

    For a quick visit, there is 15 min free parking in Parramatta. You can find them on the following Parramatta City centre streets:

  • Parramatta CBD: Marsden Street, Phillip St, Smith Street and Church Street south of Argyle Street
  • Ross Street between Villiers and Sorrell Street
  • Grose Street between Villiers and Sorrell Street
